In 2001,“the Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform(TrialImplementation)”Issued by the Ministry of Education clearly pointed out that the three-level curriculum system should be implemented at the national,local and school levels,and schools at all levels should be encouraged to develop school-based curriculum.HPS education advocates the infiltration of the history of science,philosophy of science and sociology of science into the process of education.Its core is to promote students' understanding of the nature of science.The 2017 edition of Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools emphasizes that teaching activities should be carried out in the light of human's history of exploring substances and their changes.In teaching strategies,it emphasizes the use of chemical history materials to enhance students' understanding of the nature of science,which coincides with the core of HPS education.Therefore,relying on the new curriculum standard of the 2017 edition,the author and the members of the school-based curriculum development team in the practice school developed a school-based curriculum of Brief History of Chemistry based on HPS education.This study adopts the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and interview.Firstly,the domestic and foreign literature related to "HPS education" and "school-based curriculum" are investigated,and the theory,development process and research status of HPS education and school-based curriculum are mastered.On this basis,the process of school-based curriculum development is put forward,which includes organization establishment,current situation analysis,goal formulation,programming,curriculum implementation,feedback and evaluation.Among them,the most important thing is to draw up the curriculum plan.In the selection of curriculum content,the development team carefully designed eight teaching design schemes,taking into account the suggestions of chemical history materials provided in the new curriculum standard "Situational Material Suggestion" of 2017 edition and the contents of the current textbook "Chemistry 1(Compulsory)" published by People's Education Press.Taking two teaching cases of "three generations of teachers and students building atomic structure model" and "puzzling ‘green gas' " as examples,this paper introduces how to realize HPS educational objectives through chemistry history teaching and enhance students' understanding of the nature of science.After the implementation of the course,the feedback and evaluation of the course were obtained from the students' questionnaires and teachers' interviews.The results show that the course enhances the students' interest in chemistry learning,enriches the knowledge of chemistry history,fosters the spirit of suspicion and innovation,and promotes the understanding of the nature of science.Based on the survey results,the author puts forward some suggestions on the development and implementation of school-based curriculum based on HPS education.It is hoped that this study will be helpful to the development of School-based Chemistry Curriculum in primary and secondary schools.
