The prevalence of the sharing economy has brought innovative development to the production structure and consumption structure, and the following economic benefits, entrepreneurial opportunities and employment are the most obvious development advantages at present.Expanding the areas covered by the sharing economy to rural areas will drive the development of rural regional economies and is of great significance for improving farmers’ livelihood.Sharing development also brings changes in the way of life and values to farmers. As an important part of sharing economy, the development of home-stay in rural areas is more mature than other forms of sharing. This study takes the home-stay as the starting point to observe the interaction between home-stay and rural social structure. The existing research on the sharing economy focuses more on the analysis from the macro perspective, and this paper is based on the case study to supplement the relevant micro-analysis.Based on the view of "structural influence action",this study adds an empirical study of individual reaction to structure. There is interaction between social structure and individual action, which is shown as structural restriction and individual initiative. And the way in which the restriction and the initiative will be expressed in rural home-stays is the focus of this paper.Based on the dual nature of structure, this paper takes the embedded perspective as the starting point, and observes the rural home-stay from three aspects: institution, cultural and social network. It is found that the operating behavior of residential accommodation is promoted and restricted by the institutional environment, the residential consumption focuses on the cultural experience, and the operator will make use of the cultural resources according to the demand of the consumers. The interaction produced in the process of residential activities brings new social relations to the actors and the resulting social networks and economic actions will influence each other. The research attempts to explain the institutionalized management behavior, symbolic consumption behavior and the emergence and evolution of social networks in rural sharing economy.
