Family support refers to all kinds of support and help provided by family members to individuals,and has a profound impact on their development.The way of deaf college students to seek help from the mainstream society is relatively narrow,which makes family support particularly important in their support.More and more researchers agree with the deaf culture centered on sign language.Deaf culture advocates the development of deaf people according to their physiological and cultural characteristics,which brings a new perspective to family support for deaf individuals.Based on the premise of recognizing and respecting deaf culture,this study views the social support theory as the starting point,and demonstrates whether the family support of deaf college students meets their cultural attributes through five dimensions,including emotion,material,information,educational atmosphere and identity support.In this study,400 deaf college students from Changchun,Zhengzhou and Chongqing higher education college were selected as the research subjects,and 6students were selected as the interview subjects.The status of family support for deaf college students was analyzed by means of questionnaire and interview.This paper reveals the present situation of family support of deaf college students as follows: emotional support is generally above average;mainstream-oriented information support occupies an important position;educational atmosphere support fails to full play its role;families know little about the social attributes of the deaf people;deaf students have insufficient reading support from families.Draw the following conclusions:1.It is difficult for families to objectively recognize individual differences in the process of providing support for deaf people.2.Family support of deaf college students has not yet achieved a good buffer effect.3.Under the influence of traditional cultural concepts,the support oriented to the mainstream society is the main direction of the family support of the deaf college students.4.On the content level of family support,the identity support that truly reflects the particularity of deaf people needs to be paid more attention.Aiming at the problems of family support of deaf college students,the paper putsforward some suggestions for parents: objectively recognizing the complexity of hearing impairment;exploring the appropriate family communication language;attaching importance to parent-child reading input and enhance it;establishing a scientific concept of deaf culture.Families need to be clear: the communication barrier between deaf and hearing people is caused by language and cultural differences.Families cannot ask for them by hearing people value standards.On the basis of clarifying the language characteristics,cultural attributes of deaf college students and their important role in the process of individual socialization,providing the significance of family support is the significance of support for deaf people.
