Family ties are invisible and closely related to parents and children.Parenting style and parent-child relationships closely related to families affect children's future development in many ways.This influence also exists and is positive and important for children with developmental disabilities.School adjustment is not only one of the criteria for assessing students' health status,but also a situation where children with developmental disabilities have some difficulties and face more challenges.With the increasing number of special children enrolled in school,the problem of school adjustment of children with developmental disabilities will further arouse concern and discussion.In this study,Parenting style,parent-child relationship and school adjustment of children with developmental disabilities were investigated by means of parenting styles questionnaire,parent-child relationship scale and students' school life adjustment questionnaire.The relationship between parenting styles,parent-child relationship and school adjustment of children with developmental disabilities was further explored.This study draws the following conclusions:1)There are significant differences in the dimensions of democracy and inconsistency in different parental professions.The scores of democratic dimension of parenting styles of children with developmental disabilities are the highest.There are significant differences in parenting styles between parents' gender.The scores of democratic dimension of parents with college or higher education are significantly higher than those of parents with junior middle school or lower education.2)There is no significant difference in parent-child relationship between parents and children in gender.There is significant difference in intimacy dimension of parent-child relationship in the types of children's disorders.3)The highest score in school adjustment dimension is routine adaptation.There is no significant difference between children's school adjustment and children's gender,and there is a significant difference with the types of children's disorders.4)There are significant correlations among parenting style,parent-child relationship and school adjustment of children.5)In the overall aspect of children's school adjustment,the dimensions that have significant predictive effect on children's school adjustment are intimacy,laissez-faire and democracy in turn.Among them,intimacy and democracy have a positive predictive effect on children's school adjustment,while laissez-faire has a negative predictive effect on children's school adjustment.6)The intimacy in the dimension of parent-child relationship plays a part of mediating role between parenting style and children's school adjustment as a whole.
