Research On Motivation And Satisfaction Of International Volunteers

With the rapid development of globalization,the connections among countries are becoming more closer,and internationalization is the development trend of the present and future.For the contemporary Chinese youth,the cultivation and promotion of international vision is of great significance for both themselves and the development of China.Participating in international exchange program is one of the important ways to cultivate international vision,but for the majority of ordinary college students,there are not much appropriate opportunities and projects.The short-term international volunteer program as a new thing that can provide the deep cultural experience opportunity,and be known by young people in China gradually.This type of short-term international volunteer program allows participants to make use of summer or winter vacations or gap months between works to experience a short-term life in other countries.Participants in volunteering could live and work together with other volunteers from around the world,and experience local life with free or cheap accommodation.However,international volunteers as a kind of emerging group,are not known for most people.Compared with foreign studies,domestic literature is extremely absence.Researching the motivation and the influence factors of satisfaction of Chinese international volunteers has great significance to let more people know about the international volunteers and help the organization to improve their ability of management.The article based on AIESEC(International student association of business economics)in China mainland,AIESEC international volunteers as the research object,and in the large number of domestic and foreign related literature,made a questionnaire for the motivation and satisfaction of international volunteers,collected for 373 answers from online surveys.Based on the collected data,combined with the method of statistical analysis,the author analyzed the basic information of the respondents.By analyzing participation’s motivations,divided the respondents into three groups:the "commonweal",the "career" and the "tourist",then using logistic regression,analyzed the influence factors of satisfaction in three different type volunteers.And according to the conclusions make some suggestions.The results show that the motivation of international volunteers is not unique.In addition,the main motivation of volunteers in AIESEC in China mainland is not altruistic,so they cannot be regarded as traditional volunteers.And the different types have different influence factors on satisfaction.The influence factors of satisfaction of the "commonweal" are the most,and the satisfaction of the "tourist" type is not subject to any external factors.
