Reserch On Match Between Individual’s Pesonality And Industry In China’s Labor Market

The match between personality and industry is a two-way process of selection,which is the normal state of labor market.For one thing,employers are more likely to choose individuals who are cooperative and gregarious.For another,due to the fact that China’s labor market is fragmented,there is a huge gap between the monopoly industry and the competition industry.As a result,the individuals tend to choose the specific industry as well.In the light of China’s national conditions,this paper studies the impact on employment from the perspective of match between personality and industry,so as to provide suggestions for the government to improve the employment quality of the labor market.The theoretical part of this article is mainly studied from two aspects.On the one hand,different industry in labor market has a tendency to choose the corresponding individual.The system,Chinese socialist system and the pattern with the public sector remaining dominant and diverse sectors of the economy developing side by side,determines the state-owned enterprises and the industry with characters of monopoly must inspect candidates’ personality dimensions and mental level.On the other hand,individuals’ preferences for the industry are also biased.China’s labor market is segmented into multiple parts.Therefore,to secure the benefits of China’s household register system and other welfare as well as to enter the monopoly industries,someone will sacrifice their person-to-person matching degree and person-to-organizations matching degree.Although a large amount of literature has been studied from the point of view of person-to-person matching and person-to-organization matching,this paper studies the impact on labor market from the angle of personality-to-industry matching which is more suited to China’s national conditions.In this paper,we select monthly wage and life satisfaction as the result standard.In the process standard,the paper construct personality-industry matching index and match every individual of the control group with the individual of the treatment group according to the covariate with the method of PSM.According to the data of STEP project of the world bank,this paper discovers three conclusions.Firstly,the more positive the personality,the higher the salary and the higher the life satisfaction.The higher the personality-industry matching degree,the higher the salary,but the lower the life satisfaction.Secondly,in particular,hostile personality significantly reduces salary and life satisfaction.Open personality positively increases monthly wages.Conscientious and stable personality remarkably reduced and increased life satisfaction respectively.The interaction between personality and government,cooperative firms and non-governmental organizations makes individuals tend to enter government,cooperative firms and less inclined to choose non-governmental organizations separately.However,the bias that individuals tend to enter state-owned enterprises is not of the interaction between personality and state-owned enterprise,but of the interaction between degree of education of individuals and the participation in state-owned enterprises.Thirdly,when the personality is more positive,the personality-industry matching degree is lower,the life satisfaction is higher.According to the paper’s conclusions,this paper proposes the following recommendations.Firstly,government administrative departments of labor market need to pay more attention to personality-industry matching degree.Government departments can update the content of tempering temperament in the training so as to improve the quality of employment.Secondly,education authorities should pay more attention to the role of students’ match between personality and industry.Education authorities should set up relevant courses to guide students to cultivate their open and stable personality.Students learn to cooperate in teamwork,learn to help each other and share.Thirdly,the government should view the character-industry matching degree as an important indicator of the influence of monopoly and other factors on the employment of labor market.The high match degree predicates serious monopoly.
