Objective:According to the changing trend of boundaryless career, this research is trying to explore the structure of occupation adaptive personality of Chinese people to understand the occupational adaptation of personality characteristics of the different occupational groups.The result will be available to the individual career planning guidance.Methods:First, to collect and develop occupation adaptive personality vocabulary through personality lexicology.after that, develop the questionnaire of occupation adaptive personality according to the vocabulary. Then, do survey and statistical analysis by software SPSS15.0 on 3190 samples which was taken from the whole country. using the questionnaire to get the structure of occupation adaptive personality and establish a norm and assess its reliability and validity. Finally, analyze the difference on demographic variables and occupational variables of the whole scale.Results:1.Through factor analysis on 3190 subjects who gave the effective data by the questionnaire, the Scale of occupation adaptive personality consisted 60 items, seven dimensions.2. The test-retest reliability coefficient ranged from 0.706 to 0.931 (p<0.01), internal consistency reliability coefficients ranged from 0.737 to 0.915.3.Occupation adaptive personality of seven factors and Eysenck Personality questionnaire- revision scale of China Edition (EPQ-RSC) were significantly correlated (p<0.05)except few factors are not. occupation adaptive personality of seven factors and the most parts of Holland Vocational Interest Inventory Scale were significant correlation (p<0.05) except on traditional dimension.4. Compared with the adaptive personality factors on two genders,different genders in innovation, emotional stability, interpersonal relationships have no significant difference. In extraversion, sincerity, perseverance and traditional, there were significant differences (p<0.05).5. Among different ages, there were significant differences (p<0.01) in emotional stability, sincerity, interpersonal relationships, perseverance, and traditional, but there were no significant differences in innovation and extraversion.6. In different living locations,there were significant difference among the rest of the factors (p<0.05) except in emotional stability.7. There were significant differences among the seven factors (p<0.01)in different occupations.Conclusion:1.There exist a stable structure of seven dimensions of occupation adaptive personality in Chinese personality structure.2. The seven dimensions of personality structure are:innovation, emotional stability, extraversion, sincerity, interpersonal relationships, perseverance, and traditional.3. The questionnaire with seven occupation adaptive personality has good reliability and validity, and the further standardized questionnaire can be applied in the career counseling, vocational guidance and personnel selection.4. Different subjects in different groups have different scores on seven factors.
