In recent years, the social division of labor has become more and more sophisticated with the development of economy, and people have gradually realized the importance of cooperation. However, there are investigations which reveal that the only child of China has a weak sense of cooperation,as well as poor cooperation skills.Besides, there are studies that point out that role plays have an impact on the students' ability to cooperate, without the further studies on specific aspects which have influence.Aiming to explore the effect on Role-play in high school students' cooperative ability, this thesis mainly applies the quasi-experiment method, supplemented by the questionnaire survey, literature review and interviews.According to the principle of convenient sampling, the students of Class 375 and Class 379,in Senior Grade One at the school where the author had practical teaching, were selected as samples. And the cooperation ability scale, compiled by master students of Yang Wenhui and Wu Zhixiong of the National Department of Education at Kaohsiung Normal University, was used as the research instruction. The questionnaire includes four first-level indicators: the sense of recognition and honor, the management and negotiation, the expression and communication,as well as the reflection and evaluation.Among them, the management and negotiation are divided into three aspects of the leadership and participation, the conflict and flexibility, the respect and trust. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficient is 0.826,and the KMO value of validity test is 0.711,indicating it has the good reliability and validity. The experiment makes the teaching method of role-play as the independent variable, with the cooperative ability of high school students as the dependent variable. The role-play teaching was implemented in the experimental class, while the author used the traditional teaching method in the control class. The experiment began in October,2017 and ended in early January,2018,with four role-plays in total. After the collection of relevant data, the significance of the differences before and after the experiment was tested using the independent sample t-test.The data analysis software is SPSS17.0.The results of experiment show that:(1)Role-play can significantly improve the cooperative ability of high school students(P=0.005<0.05).For girls, although the cooperative ability was increased(P=0.069>0.05),the difference was not significant. After the experiment, the flexibility and conflict ability(P=0.034<0.05)was increased and there was a significant difference;while other abilities were increased, without significant differences. For boys, the cooperative ability was significantly improved(P=0.031<0.05).After the experiment, the respect and trust ability(P=0.031<0.05)was increased and there was a significant difference;while other abilities were improved, without significant differences. As a whole, there is no difference in the cooperative ability of boys and girls to(P=0.705>0.05),however,the cooperative ability of boys is higher than that of girls.(2)Role-play can significantly improve the manage and negotiate ability(P=0.006<0.05)of senior high school students,as well as the ability of reflect and evaluate(P=0.034<0.05);although the express and communicate ability(P=0.124>0.05)and the sense of identity and honor(P=0.055>0.05)were improved, the difference is not significant. In terms of the management and negotiation ability,role-play can significantly improve senior school students' leadership and participation ability(P=0.016<0.05);while the flexibility and conflict(P=0.061>0.05),the respect and trust ability(P=0.123>0.05)have been improved, but there is no difference.(3)Role-play can significantly increase the cooperative ability of non-only children(P=0.008<0.01).After the experiment, the sense of identity and honor(P=0.048<0.05),management and negotiation ability(P=0.012<0.05),the reflection and evaluation ability(P=0.034<0.05)have been increased significantly, and although the expression and communication ability(P=0.162> 0.05)was increased, the difference was not significant. In terms of management and negotiation, the leadership and participation ability(P=0.019<0.05)has been increased significantly, and although the elasticity and conflict ability(P=0.137>0.05),the respect and trust(P=0.142>0.05)have been improved, the difference was not significant. For the only children, although the cooperative ability has been improved, the difference was not significant(P=0.093>0.05).After the experiment, the elasticity and conflict ability was increased(P=0.038<0.05)and the difference was significant;while other abilities increased, there was no difference. As a whole, there is no difference in the cooperative ability of the non-only children and the only children(P=0.733>0.05),but the cooperative ability of the non-only children is higher than that of the only children.Because of the small number of only children, the lack of sample data may have a certain impact on the experimental results. Therefore,it remains to be further explored for the results of the analysis of the significance of the only child before and after the experiment, and the significance of the only child and non-only child after the experiment.Through interviews, the following conclusions can be drawn. In terms of the attitude, students like role-play,and can correctly view the opinions of others.Through the role-play,it can deepen students' understanding of knowledge, promote students to know each other and improve students to reflect. For some students, participating in role-play is a breakthrough for themselves. In the process of role-play,students have various problems, such as rehearsing rehearsal time, writing scripts and consensus reached a consensus. For teachers, when students play roles, teachers should help students, especially to encourage the only children and girls to participate in group activities.Teachers of other subjects can also try to use role-play.For schools, schools should create a good atmosphere to role-play.
