Research Purpose:The daily physical activity of elderly women is measured by triaxial accelerometer,and the way of physical activity as well as physical health status of elderly women are obtained by the International physical activity questionnaire.After these two steps,the status of physical activity of elderly women was measured by three-axis accelerometer.The proportion of the elderly women's daily physical activity which reaches the standard will be calculated by manual method.This study provides the theoretical basis for the evaluation of the physical activity in China in the future.Research Methods: In this study,the elderly women in Xinhua Community,Guanghe Community and WuSi Community in Xigang District,Dalian City,are selected as the object.Through a questionnaire survey,86 women aged between 60 and 65,are chosen to be the subject of this study,including 20 people often participated in Taijiquan movement,25 in square dance,21 in chess and card games,and 20 subjects with no regular preference(control group).Requirements,procedures and precautions of testing will be noticed to subjects before the test.One thing should be informed that subjects should not have serious diseases before this study.In this study,the data of physical activity are calculated by use of ActiLife6.0software.The data obtained from the questionnaire are entered into the Excel for statistics.GT3 X accelerometer is used to study the level of physical activity and energy consumption among the four modes of exercise in elderly women.The differences between them were compared by one-way ANOVA.Research result:1.The static behavior time of chess and card is the longest(339.61±77.05min/d)and Taijiquan static behavior time is the shortest(247.31±63.76min/d)among the four different sports modes of elderly women daily physical activity level.The main preference of daily physical activity in elderly women is light physical activity.The(LPA)time of low intensity physical activity in 4 different sports modes are different,respectively,224.62±46.50 min/d in square dance,193.88±29.35 min/d in Taijiquan,153.70±29.48min/d in chess and card and 182.50±28.57min/d in control group.The level of LPA among chess card,control group,Taijiquan and square dance increased gradually(P<0.01),and the difference among the fourgroups are more and more significant.And there was no significant difference in the other indexes(P > 0.05).2.There was no significant difference in the average daily energy consumption and metabolic equivalent among the four different exercise modes in the elderly women.There was a significant difference in energy consumption between weekdays and weekend(P<0.01).The energy consumption of square dance,Taijiquan and control group in weekdays are significantly higher than that on weekend,and only the energy consumption of chess and card on weekend is greater than that of week.The maximum energy consumption and metabolic equivalent of square dance were 326.81±136.64kcal/d,1.87±0.05 METs,the lowest energy consumption and metabolic equivalent of chess cards were 138.07±41.07kcal/d,1.05±0.02 METs.3.The results of this study show that it is a common problem for the eldly to be sedentary.46.07% of the elderly women like chess and cards on weekdays,while 44.81% of them like chess and cards on weekends.The testing time takes 50% for subjects on weekends and weekdays.There is a significant difference in sedentary activity among elderly women with different exercise styles(P<0.05).To be specific the longest time for chess and card sit-in(368.15±76.74min/d),Taijiquan sit-in time is the shortest(260.72±50.88min/d).Both Taijiquan and chess-card enthusiasts who are sedentary keep near 6 hours a day.4.According to the parameters of average daily MVPA,the rate of reaching the standard of physical activity is calculated.The results show that the rate of MVPA in square dance reaches almost 100%,98.23% for Taijiquan,30% for chess and cards and 61.13% for the control group.The biggest reason why the rate of middle and high intensity physical activity is so remarkable is walking.The highest rate for meeting standard goes to square dancing with the average number of daily steps is 10197.76±3999.82.The lowest rate of reaching the standard goes to chess and card with 5165.70 ± 978.95 steps.In conclusion,the more the subjects walks,the higher the rate for reaching standard.Analysis conclusion:1.The majority of elderly women daily physical activity is light physical activity.In four different sports modes,the(MVPA)of middle-and high-intensity physical activity is,respectively,100% in square dance,98.23% in Taijiquan,and 30% in chess and cards,Control group 61.13%.Square dancing,Taijiquan,chess and cards,and the control group all achieved the recommended physical activity level for the elderly as required by the(IOM)of the American Medical College.2.The energy consumption of four different exercise modes on weekdays is significantly higher than that on weekends,and there is a significant difference in the energy consumption of the four different exercise modes.3.The daily exercise time of elderly women is relatively short,and the main leisure time is for sitting,and static behavior accounts for 2/3 of the daily physical activities of elderly women.4.Proper physical exercise can reduce the risk of chronic diseases in the elderly.It is recommended that the elderly should mainly choose the means of transportation by walking and reducing static behavior.
