With the continuous development of online technology,online learning resources show a variety of forms.Instructional video has become one of the main resource forms of online learning.However,the complexity of the network information,and the different needs of the online learners for resources.Most of online courses’ instructional videos mainly focus on teaching and time is between 20 and 45 minutes.The video format is also unitary,"learner-centered" has not been implemented and which can easily cause the learners to distract their attention."Micro-video" is short and compact,which has complete knowledge points.It is widely used in online learning.Although some studies have constructed learner models and implemented personalized recommendation of learning paths,the design of micro-video resources is not completely personalized,unable to fit the different needs of learners for video resources.Therefore,the personalization of micro-video resources is very necessary.This research combines the characteristics of short micro-video based on learning style,reflecting learners’ personalization from the perspective of learning style.According to multimedia learning cognitive theory and multimedia design principles,the learning style-oriented micro-video design principles are proposed in this study.Integrating the characteristics of learning style into the design of picture and text of micro-video,after applying the micro-video into self-regulated of online learning period.Through the questionnaire for the satisfaction of students to micro-video,asking questions in classroom to test learning effect and interviewing students about effectiveness of micro-video design.It is found in the result that the design of micro-video integrating learning styles that classified according to learners’ preference for information stimulation make the information processing procedure more smoothly.Learners are satisfied with the design,and personalized instruction has been realized to some extent.
