Based on the meta-analysis and the questionnaire survey,this paper uses the Hong’s Reverse Psychological Scale(HRPS),the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale Second Edition Chinese Version(FACESII-CV)and the Differentiation of Self-Inventory(DSI)to research 545 high school students.It analyzes and discusses the characteristics of psychology reactance,as well as the relationship between high school students’ psychology reactance,self-differentiation and family function.The research results are as follows:(1)The results of meta-analysis with 10 independent studies as samples show that there are gender differences in the total scores of psychology reactance,reactance of opinions,influence reactance,and compliance reactance.There is no gender difference in restricted reactance and there are publication biases.(2)Cross-sectional study shows that there is a significant difference in the degree of psychology reactance in terms of place of origin,only child or not,grade-level parents.Self-differentiation differs only in the degree of father’s education.Family function varies significantly in grade and parental education.(3)Psychology reactance was negatively correlated with self-differentiation and family function,and self-differentiation was positively correlated with family function.(4)Self-differentiation mediates between family function and psychology reactance.This leads to the following conclusions:(1)The better the family function,the higher the level of self-differentiation.Increasing the level of self-differentiation and improving family function can maintain the level of individual psychology reactance at an appropriate level.(2)Urban students have higher levels of psychology reactance than rural students;the only child has higher psychology reactance than non-only children.And the higher the grade,the lower the family function level.Parental education level has influence on children’s psychology reactance,self-differentiation level and family function.(3)Family functions can directly affect psychology reactance,and can also indirectly affect psychology reactance through self-differentiation.
