In 2022,The 14 th Five-Year Plan for Standardization of Health which the National Health Commission issued,proposed that we should build the system of adolescents’ health psychology and mental health services,establish a network of campus mental health services,and ensure that 100%of primary and secondary schools have psychological counseling offices with dedicated or part-time teachers.High school students are in a critical period of physical and mental development.This study surveyed 706 high school students in 706 first-,second-and third-year students using the Family Functioning Questionnaire,Self-differentiation Scale,and School Adaptation Scale.Statistical analysis using SPSS 25.0 was conducted to examine demographic differences in family functioning,self-differentiation,and school adaptation,as well as their correlations.Mediation analysis was further conducted using Amos 23.0 to explore the mediating effects.The research findings are as follows:1.The characteristics of family function,self-differentiation and school adaptation for high school students:(1)Regarding school adaptation,female high school students scored significantly higher than male students in the dimension of school attitude.Residential high school students scored significantly higher than non-residential students in overall school adaptation,regular adaptation dimension,and school attitude dimension.(2)In terms of family functioning,residential high school students scored significantly higher than non-residential students in overall family functioning,intimacy dimension,and adaptability dimension.Only-child high school students scored significantly higher than non-only-child high school students in overall family functioning and intimacy dimension.(3)Regarding self-differentiation,female high school students scored significantly higher than male students in the emotional reactivity dimension.High school students from incomplete families scored significantly higher than those from complete families in the self-position dimension.Non-residential high school students scored significantly higher than residential high school students in the self-position dimension.2.There is a significantly positive correlation between school adaptation and self-differentiation for high school students.3.The level of self-differentiation plays a part of intermediary role between family function and school adaptation for high school students.
