In recent years, with the continuous development of Orienteering events, the scale of events and the number of participants are increasing. The risk management of sports events is the safety guarantee of the smooth progress of the events,so it is necessary to discuss the risk management of sports events.By using the methods of literature, questionnaire and case analysis, this paper studies the competition risk of Orienteering athletes. The results are as follows.Through consulting a large number of literatures,it is discovered that the domestic research on orienteering events is mainly in the status quo and countermeasure level of the development of directional sports events. In addition, the research on the risk management of directional sports events is almost blank. In view of this phenomenon, this paper takes the relevant risks of the participants in the orienteering sports events as the research object.Besides,it uses the methods of literature, questionnaire, case analysis and professional tool analysis to study the risk of participating athletes in the orienteering events..The research results are as follows:1.Through decomposition analysis method, field observation method and interview method, completed the production of category B "oriented-sport event contestant participation risk checklist".The risk factors of oriented-sport competitors include 3 categories,9 categories and34 risk factor items.Three types of risk sources are "players' own factors, site environment factors, event organization factors";The nine risk types are "physical fitness management, equipment management, competition experience, general site environment, special site environment, weather, emergency plan management, logistics services, organizational management".Second, empirical research2.The risk assessment of Orienteering Athletes is based on the list sorting method, which calculates the weight of risk factors. The results showed that the five risk factors with the highest score were "lack of medical supervision, imperfect emergency plan, unsuitable dress, negligence of staff duties and high temperature on the day of the event".3.The risk factors are divided into four levels by using the risk matrix diagram. There are three risk factors in the "high alert zone" with the highest risk(lack of medical supervision, inadequate emergency plans and inappropriate dress for competitors);there are 12 risk factors in the "ready zone";there are 10 risk factors in the "daily monitoring zone";and there are no emergency planning areas. There are related risk factors.4.Taking 34 risk identification factors as content, based on the principles and methods of risk response, combined with the grading of risk matrix diagram, this paper draws the flow chart of competitors' competition risk with risk reduction as the core.According to the organizing process of pre-competition,competition and post-competition,this paper puts forward some measures to deal with the risk factors in each link.5.Taking the Fuzhou Orienteering Open in 2018 as a case study, the results show that there are 15 risk factors in the competition, among which there are no risk factors in the "high vigilance zone","preparation zone","daily monitoring zone".There are 10 risk factors in the "daily monitoring zone".This shows that the competition risk is controllable.Within the scope.According to the problems existing in the risk management process of the participants in this competition, this paper puts forward some pertinent suggestions.
