Site Risk Management For Orienteering Events In China

With the rapid development of the economy and the continuous improvement of people’s living standard, orienteering not only as a professional sports event, but as a form of outdoor activities, is getting more and more attention of people. However, due to the complexity of the site and the tortuous of the lines, there is a certain risk in this sport. Its security problem is more and more prominent. There is no lack of domestic and foreign scholars for the study of orienteering, with their focuses on how to improve the competitive level of athletes only. In addition, few scholars have done some research relating safety and risk analysis, which are limited to the theoretical stage. No one conduct the systematic risk identification and put forward corresponding prevention measures based on the risk management theory. From above discussions, we think it is necessary to implement comprehensive and systematic risk management procedure for orienteering event in our country. Integrated risk management is presented in this paper, on the basis of relevant theories, which from risk identification to risk control. The corresponding suggestion and control measures are also put forward for the sake of the healthy and sustainable development of orienteering in our country. The essay mainly completed the following three aspects:1. Data collecting and analysis by means of Delphi Technique and the risk factors and injury record coming from 57 events and 20 athletes. Establish site risk identification check table aimed for orienteering event in our country.2. Analyze the cause, likelihood and consequence severity of the risk according to the dada. Then conduct the risk clarification and assessment work. Put forward the effective and scientific control measures.3. Apply the check table and control measures to the orienteering event at or above the provincial level. Modify and perfect the check table according to the application of case.
