As an important part of mathematical language ability,mathematical language conversion ability not only helps students to establish good quality of mathematical thinking,but also affects the overall development level of students’ mathematical ability.This study synergizes multiple logics,takes linguistics,psychology and mathematics teaching as research perspectives,considers test paper with the SOLO questions as the research innovation,adopts the literature analysis method and the survey method to carry out the current research on the level,problems and causes of mathematics language conversion ability of junior high school students.The main conclusions are as follows.1.The overall level of junior high school students’ mathematical language conversion ability is not optimistic;2.There are many problems of mathematical language conversion in junior high school students;3.The mathematical language conversion ability of junior high school students is mainly affected by three factors including with the attitude of teachers and students,the expression ability of students as well as the forms of mathematical language;4.There are significantly directional differences in junior high school students’ mathematical language conversion ability.In response to the current situation of junior high school students’ ability of mathematical language conversion,this study proposes pointed cultivation strategies for junior high school students’ mathematical language conversion ability,specific as follows.1.Improve the mathematical language comprehension ability of junior high school students: pay attention to the semantic interpretation of mathematical language;strengthen the syntactic analysis of mathematical language.2.Enrich the mathematical language representation system of junior high school students: strengthen communication of different mathematical language forms;arrange a variety of exercises of mathematical language characterization.3.Train the mathematical language expression ability junior high school students: establish the communication platform of mathematical language;standard the writing format of mathematical language.4.Pay attention to mathematical language conversion differences of junior high school students: pay attention to the ability differences of mathematical language conversion;pay attention to the direction difference of mathematical language conversion.
