English learning motivation is the motivation factor for learners to learn English and the intrinsic driving force for learners to motivate themselves to achieve English learning goals.English is the most common language in the world and the key subject of entrance examination.More and more Chinese parents realize the importance of English learning.In recent years,Chinese parents have gradually attached importance to preschool children's English learning.But preschool children's nature is to play.What motivates them to learn English? Do they like learning English? Can they study hard? What kind of English teaching can promote preschool children's English learning? In order to answer these questions,this study investigates the English learning motivation of preschool children.Based on Drnyei's three level language learning motivation and Deci and Ryan's motivation classification,this paper investigates the characteristics of English learning motivation of 50 preschool children aged 4-6 and 200 preschool children's parents,and compares the differences of English learning motivation between parents from different family backgrounds and preschool children.The data of preschool children's questionnaire and parents' questionnaire were collated and analyzed by SPSS 22.0.Through data collation and analysis,the findings of this study are as follows:1.The characteristics of preschool children's English learning motivation: Most preschool children have a strong interests in learning English,and there is a significant correlation between children's learning interests and parents' motivation and between students' learning situation and children's learning interests.In addition,preschool children themselves think that their learning attitude is more positive,but their learning attitude is significantly correlated with parents' motivation,selfintrinsic motivation and learning situation.The interests and attitude of preschool children in English learning are largely influenced by parents,schools,teachers,classes and textbooks.2.There is no significant difference in the intrinsic motivation of preschool children and the extrinsic motivation among parents with different family backgrounds.From the perspective of parents with different family backgrounds,there are some differences in students' attitudes towards English learning and learning situations.The parents of service industry is different from the parents of government organs in the recognition of students' learning situation,and parents of government organs is 0.4 higher than the parents of service industry.And the parents of workers is different from parents' of staff in the recognition of students' learning attitude,and parents of staff is 0.4 higher than the parents of workers.This study will help preschool teachers better understand preschool children's English learning motivation,create a good learning situation,and improve preschool children's English learning level.
