The academic engagement of junior high school students is affected by many factors.Previous studies have shown that the status of academic engagement is related to the parent-child conflict perceived by junior high school students.However,researchers hold different views on the influence mechanism of parent-child conflict perceived by individuals on their academic engagement,which requires further exploration and confirmation.This study also explores the role of self-compassion in both,as it enables people to truly care about their own well-being and repair themselves after setbacks.To some extent,it can affect the psychological state of individuals when they encounter conflict events.Therefore,the role of junior high school students' self-compassion in the perceived parent-child conflict and the impact on academic engagement also needs further research.In view of this,on the basis of combing relevant literature,this study explores the status quo of perceived parent-child conflict,self-compassion and academic engagement of junior high school students,as well as the relationship among perceived parent-child conflict,self-compassion and academic engagement.798 middle school students in zhengzhou,kaifeng,qi county and rural areas were investigated by using parent-child conflict questionnaire,self-compassion scale and academic engagement questionnaire.After the reliability analysis of the questionnaire,descriptive analysis,t test,variance analysis,structural equation model,Bootstrap test and other statistical methods were used to process the data.The results showed that:(1)There was no significant gender difference between the perceived conflict with their fathers and the perceived conflict with their mothers;There is a significant difference in grade between junior high school students' perception of conflict with their mothers and no significant difference in grade between perception and conflict with their fathers.Junior high school students perceived conflict with their father and perceived conflict with their mother were significantly different in terms of class performance ranking.There were significant differences in junior high school students' perception of conflicts with their fathers in different school locations,but there were no significant differences in junior high school students' perception of conflicts with their mothers in different school locations.(2)The self-compassion of junior high school students is at the average level on the whole,and there are significant differences in gender,grade,class performance ranking,and the region where the school is located.There was no significant difference in the grades of junior high school students' self-compassion.(3)There was no significant difference in junior high school students' academic engagement between male and female students,and there were significant differences in junior high school students' academic engagement in grade,grade ranking and school location.(4)There were significant correlations among the dimensions of parent-child conflict,self-compassion and academic engagement perceived by junior high school students.Junior high school students' self-compassion plays an intermediary role between their perceived conflict with their fathers and their academic engagement.Junior high school students' self-compassion played an intermediary role between their perceived conflict with their mothers and their academic engagement.Based on the above research results,the following educational implications are proposed:(1)Maintain and improve the level of self-compassion of junior high school students.Help junior high school students learn self-compassion,put aside overly harsh self-criticism,start to accept themselves correctly,and take some time to be kind to themselves,forming a positive self-concept.(2)Reduce the level of parent-child conflict perceived by junior high school students.Pay attention to the mental state of junior middle school students in school;To maintain communication and contact with parents,common attention to the physical and mental development of junior high school students,to achieve home-school education.(3)Improve academic engagement.Schools and teachers communicate with parents to make them realize the importance of family to the academic engagement of junior high school students.Improve the qualification level of teachers and strengthen the hardware facilities of school education.
