The Social Integration Differences Of New Urban Immigrants

New urban immigrants are a typical group in China.As migrants,their social integration in cities has attracted much attention.Focus on solving the problem of the social integration of new urban immigrants,text based on the special investigation data of 2014 migrants social integration of National Health and Family Planning Committee,to study the performance and the differences of social integration of the new urban immigrants of eight cities(district)such as the Chaoyang district of Beijing City,Jiaxing City,Xiamen City,Qingdao City,Zhengzhou City,Shenzhen City,Zhongshan City,Chengdu City(hereinafter referred to as Chaoyang of Beijing,Jiaxing,Xiamen,Qingdao,Zhengzhou,Shenzhen,Zhongshan,Chengdu);Using exploratory factor analysis method and multiple linear regression model,a comprehensive index for measuring social integration is constructed,and the influencing mechanism of social integration of each city(district)is described.On this basis,the reasons for urban differences of the social integration of the new immigrants are analyzed.It is found that the social integration of new urban immigrants in eight cities(district)consists of cultural integration,psychological integration,relationship integration and economic integration.The degree of social integration of Inland provincial capital(Chengdu,Zhengzhou),and the coastal developed cities(Xiamen,Qingdao)is significantly higher than international metropolis(Chaoyang of Beijing,Shenzhen)and coastal strong economy cities(Jiaxing,Zhongshan),the reason is that four cities such as Chengdu,Qingdao,Xiamen,Zhengzhou generally in three aspects:cultural integration,relationship integration and psychological integration have obvious advantages than Chaoyang of Beijing,Jiaxing,Zhongshan,Shenzhen(in addition to Qingdao on the relationship integration showed a certain disadvantage).There are differences in influencing mechanism of social integration of new urban immigrants in eight cities(district),but there are also some commonalities.Theincrease of monthly income of local families,the ownership of local houses,the health education and government training of the destination and the acceptance of local residents can promote the social integration of the new urban immigrants in eight cities(district).The improvement of educational background also helps the social integration of new immigrants in many cities.There are some reasons behind the differences in social integration.Chengdu,Zhengzhou,Xiamen and Qingdao,which have advantages in cultural and psychological integration,have done a better job than other cities in promoting the integration of the new urban immigrants’ s health habits,education and pension concept,social perspective into local culture,and building urban policies and cultural atmosphere that are more receptive to the migrant population.The cities with a high degree of relationship integration,new immigrants have obvious advantages in the participation of social activities and social organizations.The urban differences in relationship integration may also be related to the public services provided by the destination for new urban immigrants.The difference of economic integration may be related to the relative income of new immigrants.Based on the above research results,the social integration of the new urban immigrants in eight cities(district)can be promoted by building a more inclusive urban policy environment and cultural environment,improving the quality of the new urban immigrants,their income and the possibility of buying a house in the places where they enter,and adopting appropriate measures and precise policies to better serve and manage the urban immigrants.
