As a populous country, the population problem is one of the most concerned issues in our country. The impact of population on China's social and economic development can not be ignored. The changes in the age structure of the population are closely related to economic growth. In recent years, there have been more and more studies on the relationship between population age structure and economic growth in China.People from various industries are paying more and more attention to this issue. This shows that the changes in the age structure of the population have a deeper impact on China's economic development. Therefore,It is very important for the development of our country to solve the impact of changes in the age structure of the population on economic growth. This paper analyzes the current situation of China's population age structure and economic growth. The national data of total dependency ratio, child rearing ratio and old-age dependency ratio and GDP in China from year 1990 to 2016 are selected,as well as the data of 31 provinces(excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)in year 2000,2010 and 2016.Compare classification criteria of population age structure with status of population structure, this paper draw a map to describe the distribution of the population age structure in these years,do cluster research on the provinces based on the economic level and total dependency ratio. The research results show that China has entered the old-age society since 2000,and the child rearing ratio is keeping higher than the old-age dependency ratio, but the child rearing ratio is decreasing at first and then increasing, reaching it's minimum in 2010.The old-age dependency ratio is growing steadily at an increasing rate since 2007.There are obvious regional characteristics in age structure distribution, the old-age dependency ratio is significantly higher in the coastal areas with better economic development, while in the economically developed areas, the child-raising ratio is higher, the reasons are analyzed and targeted recommendations are put forward.According to this phenomenon,it is suggested that it is necessary to increase the birth rate of the population.Secondly, the national data of China from year 1990 to 2016 are used as sample, the relationship between labor input and consumption are studied.Using the Cobb Douglas extended model, based on the conditions of elderly population is divided by 65 years old and 70 years old, studying on the impact of various age structural changes on economic growth, and the workers are divided into mental workers and manual workers. The contribution rate of each indicator to economic growth is obtained.Refine the specific divisions in each age structure, study the impact of consumption on economic growth by age population in each period. The results of comparative studies show that when China extends its working age as an increase in labor force, the contribution of labor to economic growth has increased significantly.Through the subdivision of age population to study the impact of consumption on economic growth, the population in the youth stage has the largest consumption demand, and the contribution rate of mental workers in China is less than that of manual workers, also the working age of mental workers can be extended through differential policies, and the economic level can be promoted for the youth population to promote consumption. Finally, using the provincial panel data of China from 2000 to 2016 as a sample, the country is divided into seven regions by geography as North China,Northeast China,East China,Central China,South China,Southwest China and Northwest China,to study on the impact of household consumption and education on economic growth for each region. The results of comparative studies show that the changes in children's population have a significant impact on the economic development of North China,Central China,East China and other regions. The population of children, the elderly population and the consumption rate of residents have significant effects on South China and Southwest China,The population change has a significant impact on the northwest region, and the education level has a highly significant impact on the northeast and northwest regions, then proposes countermeasures for economic development.Based on this, the countermeasures for the development of theeconomic level with regional characteristics are proposed.
