Under the background of Below-Replacement And Population Aging,Japan is facing various social problems.Among them, the problem of scarcity of labor force has attracted much attention from all hierarchies in Japan. Therefore, the appropriate and effective use of female labor force has become one of the important ways to alleviate the shortage of labor force pressure.Aiming at the issue of Japanese women's employment, this paper verifies the relationship between Japanese traditional consciousness on the gender division of labor and Japanese married women's employment through empirical study.Firstly, this paper uses relevant data from the Japan Cabinet Office and the Statistics Japan to illustrate the current situation of Japanese women's employment rate changing from M-type employment model to anti-U-type employment model. At the same time,it also explores the trend of Japanese attitude towards the traditional consciousness of gender division of labor.Secondly, referring to the previous research, this paper takes the influence that couple's consciousness on the gender division of labor have on the employment of Japanese married women as the research objective. And through empirical analysis,it finally draws a conclusion below:couple's consciousness on the gender division of labor has an important impact on the employment of Japanese married women; When couple's attitudes towards the consciousness on the gender division of labor are opposite, the choice of either one will affect wife's employment choice. At the same time, the attitude of husband have a slightly greater impact than that of wife's.Finally,at the end of the paper, the author puts forward corresponding suggestions on the relevant policies of Japan from the perspectives of school education and employment policy.
