A Comparative Analysis Of The Characteristics Of Technology And Tactics Of The World Outstanding Table Tennis Players Ma Long And Fan Zhendong

This article watched Malone and Fan Zhendong’s 30 major competitions from 2016 to 2018.Some of the results of the two athletes showed ups and downs.Facing the strong impact of some athletes from Japan and Germany(Ocharov,Zhang Benzhi,Boer,Koki Niwa,etc.),they posed certain threats to the Chinese table tennis players.Malone and Fan Zhendong,as the main players of the national team,have frequently lost matches in the past two years.So how should we deal with this situation and be fully prepared for the Tokyo Olympics? This paper uses the method of documentation to make statistics and analysis of the data.The advantages,disadvantages and differences of the two athletes were found out to provide some basis for preparing for Tokyo and the development of national table tennis.After research and analysis,the following conclusions are drawn on the technical and tactical application of the two athletes:1、On the characteristics of serving,Malong and Fan Zhendong serve mainly on the right and near net.Malong’s percentage of long shots is higher than Fan Zhendong’s.Malong’s ability to serve directly and the threat it poses to his opponent are better than Fan Zhendong’s.2、In the use of techniques and tactics in the connection between serving and attacking,Malong’s direct scoring rate is generally higher than Fan Zhendong’s.In the connection between the first plate and the third plate,Malong’s sense and enthusiasm for preemptive attack is higher than Fan Zhendong’s.on the fifth board,Malone and Fan Zhendong are mainly backhand attacks,Malong’s backhand attack rate is higher than Fan Zhendong’s,Fan Zhendong’s forehand attack rate is higher than Malong’s.3、At the stage of receiving the opponent’s serve,Fan Zhendong’s sense of attack is higher than Malong’s,and the direct scoring rate is also higher than Malong’s.When Fan Zhendong receives the opponent’s serve,the technology of twisting balls is used most often.Malong used pendulum technique to control more.When Fan Zhendong receives the opponent’s serve,he uses more backhand,while Malong uses more forehand.4、In the stage of catching the serve and attacking,The direct scoring rate of Fan Zhendong’s successive attacks after receiving the serve was higher than Malong’s.When Malong receives his opponent’s serve and then controls it,after Malong took control of his opponent’s serve,the attack ability of the fourth board is better.5、In the stalemate phase,Fan Zhendong was more active in attacking in the stalemate.Fan Zhendong used more sideways reverse and forehand reverse,Malong used more backhand counter – attacks.Both athletes take backhand slash as their main attack route.
