The core literacy refers to the essential characters and critical abilities gradually formed during the process of receiving education,which are suitable for the lifelong development of individuals and social needs.The core literacy of chemistry is the critical literacy that students develop in the chemical cognitive activities and show during the process of solving the problems related to chemistry.As a chemistry teacher who undertakes the task of curriculum implementation,his core literacy of chemistry directly influences the cultivation and implementation of the students’ core literacy of chemistry.Therefore,it is necessary to study the core literacy of chemistry teachers,so as to better achieve and implement the new curriculum objectives proposed in curriculum standards and better realize the goal of “cultivating well-rounded people”.On the basis of combing related research results of chemistry core literacy,combining with the 2017 edition of The Standards of High School Chemistry Curriculum,and the contents of chemistry core literacy,The Questionnaire on Chemistry Core Literacy of High School Teachers was compiled.Thirty-eight chemistry teachers in Xingtai were investigated.Statistical software SPSS22.0 was used to analyze the data of valid questionnaires collected.The conclusions are as follows:First,the chemical literacy of high school chemistry teachers in Xingtai is relatively low.Second,in several aspects of core literacy,scientific inquiry and innovation awareness literacy are the best while scientific attitude and social responsibility literacy are the lowest.Third,high school teachers of different types of schools have significant differences in their cognition of the core literacy of chemistry.Fourth,there is no significant difference in the cognition and implementation of the core literacy of chemistry among high school teachers of different genders,different educational levels,different professional titles and different teaching ages.Based on the findings above,some suggestions are put forward to improve the core literacy of chemistry teachers.First,from the aspect of training department,it issuggested that the renewal of teachers’ teaching ideas and concerns should be guided practically.The publicity and popularization of core literacy should be increased in time to do a good job in the training of the new curriculum standards and core literacy.Second,from the school aspect,it is suggested that the management should pay attention to the process of the core literacy and build a platform for teachers to improve core literacy.Third,from the aspect of teachers themselves,it is suggested that teachers should pay attention to their professional development and improve themselves through the platform set up by schools.It is expected to provide references for the improvement of high school chemistry teachers’ own discipline core literacy and the implementation of core literacy in high school chemistry teaching.
