WeChat Moments,a social plugin of Tencent WeChat,have been popular among the netizens with the important functions of socializing and sharing.As the most active group who are most willing to embrace new things among Chinese netizens,young university students have become loyal users of WeChat Moments.While enjoying the convenience and fun brought by WeChat Moments,they are also confronted with the negative impact exerted by WeChat Moments on their thoughts and ideas,value orientation,daily life,and learning style.In other words,WeChat Moments have become an "significant variant"facing the current ideological and political education work of university students.Based on the goal of facilitating the WeChat Moments to better serve the ideological and political education work of university students,this article provided a basic introduction to WeChat Moments first,which laid foundation for the research on the impact of WeChat Moments on the ideological and political education of university students.Second,through questionnaire survey,the article obtained the information about the current application situation of WeChat Moments among university students,and analyzed the major reasons why university students have been enthusiastic about WeChat Moments and the opportunities and challenges presented to the ideological and political education by WeChat Moments from the perspective of the features and functions of WeChat Moments.Last but not least,based on reality and guided by the issue,the article attempted to propose feasible solution to converting the "significant variant" of WeChat Moments into a "significant opportunity".
