PCK is a type of knowledge unique to teachers which evolves with the teaching practice.It requires the teachers to reconstruct what is being taught effectively based on students' knowledge and to transform the taught contents into the knowledge which is easy for the students to understand and master in a specific teaching context.The research takes the high school chemistry novice teacher as the research object and explores the overall level of PCK,the level and characteristics of each element to point out the specific direction for the promotion and professional develop.Based on the research on the related literature of PCK,the PCK measurement research tool compiled by Eriksen College in the United States is taken as the basis and 30 novice teachers from Hebei Province are selected for the investigation and research.Considering the limitations of the investigation and research,the teaching design texts of two novice teachers randomly selected from the testees are analyzed and 3 chemical novice teachers are interviewed.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The PCK level of high school chemistry novice teachers is generally lower and is at the second level which is the basic level.(2)The three dimensions(teaching content knowledge,student knowledge,teaching strategy knowledge)of PCK of the high school chemistry novice teacher are at the second level which is the basic level.The teaching content knowledge is relatively good,followed by the student knowledge,and the teaching strategy knowledge is the worst.(3)There are significant differences between the dimensions of PCK of the high school chemistry novice teachers.There is a certain correlation between the dimensions,but the correlation is weak.(4)In terms of the influencing factors of the pedagogical content knowledge,gender,age and professional title influence the level of PCK of the novice teachers to a certain extent.(5)In terms of the source of pedagogical content knowledge,the source of PCK of the novice teachers is narrow,and is mainly based on university courses andteaching practice.Finally,with the combination of the knowledge obtained in this research and problems found in the research process,the PCK development suggestions for high school chemistry novice teachers are proposed.
