Purpose:This current study investigated the present situation of physical activities and sports injuries,analyzed the possible factors affecting the occurrence of sports injuries,summarized the causes of sports injuries,and put forward the corresponding suggestions in some high school students in Beijing.Method:By the methods of literature,questionnaire and mathematical statistics,this study investigated the present situation of physical activities and sports injury accidents,factors and causes of the sports injuries in six high schools in Beijing.Result:(1)64.8% of the subjects participated in sports activities regularly and 96.4% of the subjects participated in sports activities in school normally.The favorite exercises were ball games(36.4%)and running & jumping(31.3%)in subjects.The major reason being absent from sports activities was physical discomfort(66.4%).The main frequency of the exercise was 0-3 times per week(57.6%)and the main duration of the exercise was 0~30 minutes per section(44.0%).Fewer of the exercises were organized and less of the instructions were conducted by professionals when taking part in sports activities.(2)The incidence of sports injuries was as high as 61.0% and the frequency of the injuries was 0.9 per person year.The incidence of injuries was significantly higher in males comparing with females(p<0.05),in lower grade students comparing with higher grade students(p<0.05),and in suburb schools comparing with urban schools(p<0.05).The most injuries induced from basketball event(35.9%),followed by track & field(31.6%).(3)Sports injuries occurred most frequently in afternoon(35.6%)and in moderate ambient temperature(48.7%).The most common injury site was ankle(38.8%)followed by knee(25.3%).The most accidence occurred in plastic and cement fields(47.5% and 27.4%,respectively).Twists(39.2%)and falls(39.1%)were the main reasons of the injuries,and collisions and kicks were contributed less.Skin(35.5%)and muscle(24.6%)injuries were most likely to occur in sports injury accidents.(4)The sports injury accidents occurred due to the own reasons of the subjects(including poor psychological status,instantaneous overexertion,poor physiological status and poor self-protection)(57.9%),the school reasons(including inadequate preparatory activities,irregular or false technical actions,lack of medical supervision and protection,poor venues,equipment and climate),and other reasons(foul of the opponent)(7.6%).(5)The first treatment after the sports injuries occurred was common through oneself(34.4%)and school doctor(17.7%),and most of them were able to treat the injuries immediately(65.1%).Conclusion:(1)The participation in sports activities organized by school was more than spontaneous exercises after school in high school students in Beijing.They participated most in ball games and running & jumping,but they participated less frequently and lacked professional instruction.(2)The incidence of sports injuries was in higher level,especially in male,higher grade and suburb students in high school students in Beijing.The most common sports injuries were skin and muscle injuries.The most common injury site were ankle and knee.(3)The sports injury accidents might relate to the organization form of the sports activities,activity types,actions,field materials,ambient temperature and time of exercise.The most injuries induced from basketball and track & field events and the most accidence occurred in plastic and cement fields.(4)Most of the sports injury accidents occurred due to the own reasons of the subjects,such as instantaneous overexertion.
