Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,China's compulsory education has made tremendous achievements.However,under the dual structure of urban and rural areas,rural education still faces many problems,and small-scale rural schools are still in the neglected and forgotten corner.The problems such as backward educational conditions,insufficient education funds and shortage of teachers persist for a long time,which lead to the failure of small-scale teachers to carry out in all-round,adequate and well-regulated courses prescribed by the nation,the loss of students in rural areas is continuous and rural schools fall into a vicious cycle.Therefore,the development of small-scale rural schools has become the weakest link in the cause of compulsory education in China.The National Outline for Medium-and Long-term Education Reform and Development(2010-2020)points out that" adapt to the essence of urban and rural development,plan the school layout rationally,run the necessary teaching places,and facilitate students'enrollment nearby",and establishes the necessity and rationality of the retention of small-scale schools in rural areas;at the same time,it says that "information technology has revolutionary impact on education and must be given high priority." It shows a new direction for the future development of small-scale rural schools.Since then,the practice of using information technology to promote the development of education has sprung up like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.Educational administrations at all levels have actively explored the effective mechanism of using information technology to expand the coverage of high-quality educational resources,hoping to gradually narrow the gap among regions,urban and rural areas and schools through the deep integration of information technology and education and teaching.The "joint school online education" project in chongyang county,hubei province is the use of information technology to promote small-scale rural development of a typical case.Chongyang County is located in a mountainous area,at the stage of basic education,there are many schools,many spots and a wide range of areas.With the support of the Education Department of Hubei Province,the project of "joint school network education"to promote the development of small-scale rural schools is in full swing in Chongyang County.Four years after the project,how is the status of small-scale schools in rural areas?What impact does information technology have on small-scale rural schools?Can the online teaching mode of joint schools bring substantive changes to the vast rural small-scale schools?After several on-the-spot follow-up investigations and studies,this paper takes the model of "online education in joint schools" in Chongyang County as an example to analyze the measures,effects and prospects of informatization in promoting the development of small-scale rural schools in depth,so as to select appropriate technologies to provide abundant practical experience and theoretical references for the educational administrative departments to promote the development of small-scale rural schools in order to narrow the educational gap between urban and rural areas and achieve educational equity.The research is carried out specifically from the following aspects:Chapter 1 is the introduction of the article.It mainly elaborates the reason and problems of the research,the purpose and significance of it,the methods adopted,and the results of previous experts and scholars which forms a literature review.It defines the important related concepts in this research,which is the research basis of this paper.Chapter 2 takes the small-scale rural schools in Chongyang County as an example,investigates and studies the problems existing in the development of small-scale rural schools at the present stage,and summarizes the problems from three perspectives of schools,teachers and students.Chapter 3 elaborates the measures the measures of using information technology to promote the development of rural small-scale schools in Chongyang county.It analyses how the "online teaching of joint schools" is formed and operated smoothly from six aspects:operation mechanism,power-responsibility relationship,hardware facilities,software resources,teacher training and class mode.Chapter 4 surrmmarizes the achievements of online education in rural small-scale schools in the past four years,based on the questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with teachers and students.Chapter 5 analyses the situation of Chongyang County's inadequate use of information technology to promote the development of small-scale rural schools,and finds that there are still some problems in five aspects:funding,facility allocation,software resources,teachers' ability and teacher-student interaction.On the basis of the research of Chapter 5,Chapter 6 puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to optimize the effect of information technology on the development of rural small-scale schools.Chapter 7 is the summary of the full paper,this part sorts out and summarizes the research and conclusions of this paper,and looks forward to the future research on the educational practice of using information technology to promote the development of rural small-scale schools and basic education.
