Social anxiety is a kind of anxiety phenomenon that may appear in interpersonal communication. The main manifestation is the strong fear of other people's evaluation in social situations.Serious cases may develop into social anxiety disorder. The survey shows that social anxiety is a common and serious psychological problem for junior high school students both at home and abroad.Social anxiety is not conducive to the establishment of good interpersonal relationships,it also affects the physical and mental health of individuals. The research on social anxiety in China is still in its infancy. The harm and influence of social anxiety have not attracted the attention of parents, teachers and even students themselves. It is often simply classified as introverted or temporary anxiety. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a positive and in-depth study on social anxiety of junior high school students. With the rapid development of internet,it has gradually become an important online place for people to communicate and show themselves.People can not only publish their daily life and express their ideas on social networks, but also communicate with relatives and friends, and pay attention to each other's life.Social networks are the extension of people's real social life.Especially for the contemporary teenagers growing up in the Internet era, using social networks to maintain friendship with friends and obtain emotional support has become a daily life.Social networking sites have penetrated into the daily activities of teenagers, and obviously have become an important social environment affecting the growth and development of teenagers.Social networking sites are not the characteristics of instant communication and editable content, which provide an ideal channel for individuals to create a positive personal image.People often display their excellent and happy side in a very positive way on social networking sites, such as happy and positive daily life, optimized personal photos, relatively less negative information about themselves, and some related aspects.Research has proved that there is a significant positive correlation between social network usage and social anxiety. Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the impact of specific social network usage behavior(such as social network self-presentation)on personal social anxiety. In the study of the relationship between social network usage and social anxiety, there is no specific distinction between social network presentation,so this study mainly investigates how self-presentation affects social anxiety. On the relationship between Internet use and self-concept clarity,Valkenburg and Peter put forward the"self-concept integration hypothesis".The self-concept integration hypothesis holds that the emergence of the Internet provides individuals with more opportunities to interact with others, not only among the people around them, but also helps individuals by communicating with a variety of people and obtaining a variety of feedback and responses.Confirm self-identity.Relevant research results also prove that positive self-presentation in social networks has the function of self-construction,which can directly affect the formation of self-concept clarity, and is one of the important ways for adolescents'self-development.For adolescents in the stage of self-concept development, forming clear self-concept is beneficial to adolescents' mental health and can better adapt to society.Longitudinal studies have shown that low self-concept clarity can predict high levels of anxiety symptoms. In addition, studies have further shown that self-concept clarity mediates peer bullying and personalized problems such as depression and anxiety. When adolescents actively present their thoughts and life on the social network, the self on the network may be different from the self presented in real life. This difference may affect the social life of adolescents and produce social anxiety. At the same time, previous studies have found that the clarity of individual self-concept has a positive impact on social anxiety, mediated by the clarity of self-concept.Whether it will affect the relationship between positive self-presentation of social networks and social anxiety is the issue of this study.According to the above statements, this study used the Social Network Active Self-Presentation Scale,Self-Concept Clarity Scale and Social Anxiety Scale to investigate 550 middle school students in Xi'an.SPSS22.0 was used to analyze the data to observe the characteristics of each variable, the relationship between social network positive self-presentation and social anxiety, and the relationship between self-concept clarity. After the mediation effect, the following conclusions are drawn:1.The social anxiety of junior high school students is significantly different in whether they have only one child or not,and the only child is significantly lower than the non-only child.2.There are two significant correlations between positive self-presentation,self-concept clarity and social anxiety of junior high school students.Social network positive self-presentation predicts self-concept clarity positively, social network positive self-presentation predicts social anxiety positively, and self-concept clarity negatively predicts social anxiety.3.Self-concept clarity can play a mediating role in social network positive self-presentation and social anxiety, that is,social network positive self-presentation can not only directly predict social anxiety, but also correlate with social anxiety through self-concept clarity.
