"incidental vocabulary learning" refers to the learning of vocabulary knowledge as a by-product in the process of activities(such as reading)in which vocabulary learning is not clearly defined in relation to deliberate learning.The main purpose of reading is to understand the content of the story,and understanding ability is also one of the five important skills of reading.The ability to understand children's stories is the basis of reading behavior and an important factor in obtaining key information about the story.The way children read is mainly to read with adults,although sharing reading is an effective intervention to promote the development of vocabulary and story understanding.However,the factors affecting its effectiveness have not been well studied.The purpose of this study is to explore the two ways in which kindergarten teachers can read children by using experimental methods,namely,reading the story based on the text content and the free sharing of the story based on the text.And the impact of story understanding.Taking 60 children aged 4-5 years in two parallel middle classes in a kindergarten in Tianjin as the experimental object.They were randomly divided into two groups,the storytelling group and the reading group.They received different experimental conditions.After the experiment,the scores of the vocabulary acquisition scores and the scores of the story comprehension scales of each group were used as post-tests.Differences between before and after,and between groups before and after the difference.The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Both reading methods can promote the acquisition of vocabulary with the middle school children,but there is no significant difference in the reading vocabulary between the two groups.(2)Compared with the shared reading method of reading stories,storytelling is more conducive to the understanding of the stories of middle school children.(3)There are no gender differences in the two ways of sharing reading,whether it is incidental vocabulary acquisition or story understanding.According to the conclusions of this study,the following educational recommendations are proposed:(1)Pay attention to sharing reading and help children get vocabulary.(2)It is recommended that kindergarten teachers use free storytelling methods to promote children's understanding of stories when sharing reading in the whole class.(3)It is recommended that parents should also use the free storytelling method in the family to help children understand the story...
