| Tue Tseh Ling is a famous modern historian,educator and translator in modern China.He has studied Chinese and Western cultures and has extensive experience.He has made great achievements in Western history,and his research on education,education history,diplomatic history and treaty theory has also achieved remarkable results.He has a lot of experience in the teaching of history methods,and his unique insights in history education and teaching are also thought-provoking.After the late Qing Dynasty,the nationalist consciousness of the Chinese people continued to awaken,and by the 1920s,the role of history education in carrying forward nationalism was constantly emerging.During this period,due to the new cultural movement,the Chinese and Western cultures collided and blended,and the introduction and dissemination of various historical schools and educational concepts dominated by Robinson’s new historiography had a tremendous impact on Chinese historical education concepts.In this context,and based on his own educational background of both Chinese and Western learning,Tue Tseh Ling made a multi-faceted proposal on the reform of historical education based on his national conditions.He believes that history has a special role in cultivating people’s social performance.Historical education should be based on the promotion of nationalism and the aim of cultivating qualified citizens who have a world-wide vision of "profits and interests".The ability is characterized by taking into account the students’ respect for historical facts and the development of history-based consciousness;in the compilation of textbooks,the concept of "life integration" and the Chinese and foreign mixed teaching materials are proposed,and the principles of textbook content selection and organization are proposed;In terms of methods,it is proposed that history teaching should "live" the current history,encourage students to conduct historical inquiry,and advocate the use and development of diversified historical teaching resources,and supplement the teaching materials with textbooks such as words and objects.Although there are ideal characteristics in some details,Tue Tseh Ling’s historical education thought is the unity of nationality and science.Tue Tseh Ling’s historical education thought based on his national conditions is a manifestation of his courage to shoulder social responsibility and national mission.He is also a map of the common concern of many historians and educators during the Republic of China.Although his research on middle school history education is insufficient in terms of landing.However,his discussion and thinking are in line with the development of the times and the laws of education,and promote the development and reform of historical education,which is of reference to today’s historical education reform. |
