The change of social environment and the continuously updated national education policy, idea about education and curriculum concept are bound to affect the contents of the textbooks. Study the changes of the textbooks and analyze the reasons for such changes will help us grasp the development trend of the textbooks, and also provide some valuable reference to the writing of the new textbook.This paper will analyze from three aspects: the change of China's education policy, the change of requirements in the world history syllabus and the change of high school textbook of the world political history.In the first part of change of China's education policy, the author introduced and discussed the educational policy changes and developments in three different periods of time : the 1980 s, the 1990 s and from the curriculum reform till now.In the second part of change of syllabus requirement, based on historical syllabus standard issued by the Ministry of Education, the author discussed the double-base ideological mode of 1980 s, the basic knowledge, the basic ability and ideological education mode of 1990 s and the knowledge and ability, process and methods, attitudes and values mode after curriculum reform,and recognized that the change of requirement of high school world history is because of the change of national education policy.In the third part of change and development of high school world political history textbook, the author described the major changes of the textbook since China's reform and opening up, from the perspective of the time limit, the main content, conception of world history and the introduction of new ideas in the first section.And in the second section, based on the 2003 and 2007 edition of teaching material, the author analyzed the change of the textbook from material selection, compile and historical standpoint and the ability. In the third section, the paper introduced the shortcomings existing in the teaching material.
