| This article takes "a ritual view of communication" as the research perspective, and takes the small indoor music performance space-LiveHouse as the research object,to do research on identity of the youth subculture group, through the multiple research methods such as field participation observation, literature research,in-depth interview and typical case analysis,To explore the practical significance of LiveHouse’s practice in the subculture of youth, and this meaning is how young people can communicate and share experiences through LiveHouse’s communication rituals, and gain a sense of identity and belonging of young subculture groups. This is the core issue of this study. In the overall structure, this paper focuses on the theoretical interpretation of the ritual view of communication proposed by James W.Kerry in the introduction section,in order to lay a theoretical foundation for the later research. In the following text, this article starts from the characteristics of the concept of communication rituals, and discusses how"LiveHouse affects the identity construction of young subculture groups",starting from the four perspectives of metaphor, role, meaning and function. The symbolic presentation of LiveHouse, the participation of youth, the production and sharing of meanings, and the discussion of how LiveHouse constructed the identity of the youth subculture group through the ritual sense of communication. This paper finds that the performance in the LiveHouse is not a simple information dissemination behave or a linear transmission process of information,,but a ritualized communication ritual behavior and a youth participation and meaning sharing from different cultural backgrounds. In the process of participation, the youth group formed some unique styles and habits,so that the musicians on stage and the young people in the audience can experience a sense of participation. The young people who enter here will leave the external real world, break away from the existing social structure, weaken their original identity, and immerse themselves in a unified ritual activity, which will form a sub-cultural group and construct a group identity. Finally, they will come towards a particular value and culture. |
