College counselors in China play an important role in the education,management and service of students.Since the beginning of the 21 st century,the party and the state have paid more and more attention to the ideological and political education of college students.The counselors are the educators,managers and instructors of the daily ideological and educational activities of college students.The party and the state have attached great importance to the professional and specialization construction of college counselors.However,how to identify and position the identity of college counselors in China? How to improve professional learning and career development skills? What are some scientifically effective strategies?This study takes the theme of “multi-identity and professional learning” as the core research topic of college counselors in China.Based on the perspective of adult qualitative learning theory,using the qualitative research method of narrative inquiry,five college counselors are selected to conduct in-depth interviews.The research results show that :(1)The professional learning process of identity cognition can be summarized as three problems: "who I am","what I want to learn" and "how to learn",namely five main roles of identity cognition,professional learning caused by triggering events(contents and methods of learning)and new identity experience.(2)There are three forms of identity transformation in professional learning,namely,the transformation of primary and secondary identity in multiple identities,the addition of identity in multiple identities and the disappearance of identity in multiple identities.Based on the research findings,this study proposes strategies for professional learning under the background of multiple identities of college counselors in China.First,from the perspective of individualism,the "internal motivation" of professional learning of university counselors should be improved.Firstly,the identity of counselors should be formed and the concept of lifelong learning should be established.Secondly,pay attention to the accumulation of experience and cultivate the awareness of independent learning;Finally,attach importance to communicativelearning and expand diversified learning channels.Second,from the perspective of socialism,the "traction" of professional learning should be enhanced.First of all,it is necessary to attach importance to teamwork and improve individual learning enthusiasm.Secondly,actively participate in training and learning to improve individual professional learning skills;Finally,build a cultural learning circle and create a good working and living environment.
