The New Curriculum Reform advocates students to form the habit of scientific thinking and have some independent innovation ability through self-learning,cooperative learning and inquiry learning.And the teaching mode of group cooperative learning is undoubtedly one of the effective ways that fit for the New Curriculum Reform.Cooperative learning is a positive teaching mode,in which students work in groups with fair division of the task to explore specific teaching contents and complete learning tasks together in the process of teaching.At present,there are many difficulties in the teaching and learning of many large-scale classes in some underdeveloped areas.These classes are usually overcrowded,ranging from fifty to sixty student,and some even with seventy to eighty students.Their teachers usually bear heavy teaching pressure and tasks.And their students have low learning efficiency,lack interest in learning,and even obtain poor academic achievement and comprehensive abilities.So how to implement cooperative learning in large-classes has become an urgent problem for those super large schools.This paper is themed “An Experimental Research on Cooperative Learning Mode Adopted in the Large-Scale Classes of High School”.First,the author will come to a preliminary summary of the concept,positive significance and specific teaching modes of cooperative learning by further study on the literature of cooperative learning both at home and abroad.Then,the author analyzes the rationality and feasibility of implementing cooperative learning in the teaching of large-classes,and puts forward the teaching mode of large-scale class cooperative learning.Taking Huaiji No.1 Middle School as a case study,the author carries out an experimental research on cooperative learning in large-classes English teaching mode.The experiment will be carried out in 2 classes in Senior Grade 2(for Science students),setting a comparison model between an experimental class and a control class.Cooperative learning mode will be adopted in the experimental class while the conventional teaching method in the control one.Lasting one semester,the experiment will focus on the investigation and analysis of cooperative learning adopted in the experimental class and try to put forward relevant improvement strategies,which will be of significance for the students' learning autonomy and interest in English,teamwork consciousness andcommunicative skills in the process of cooperative learning,and also the overall achievement of English.With the comparative analysis of the relevant data by SPSS software,this paper comes to the following preliminary conclusions: on the basis of scientific grouping and with cooperative learning adopted in English teaching in the large-scale class,we can enhance students' learning subjectivity,improve students' interest in learning English,improve students' cooperative awareness and skills,and improve students' English performance.Meanwhile,with timely reflection on the implementation process and results of cooperative learning,the author obtains preliminary establishment of a relatively scientific and reasonable teaching model for high school English Cooperative Learning: self preparation before class----cooperation research in groups in class,presentation in groups,teacher's timely guidance----consolidation by related exercise after class and reading in the morning and evening.
