Cooperative Leaning could be dated back to 1970s in the United States and Chinese scholars and researchers began to be devoted to it from 1980s, the using of it in teaching and educational fields is still a newborn thing, and it is still in the primary period.With the further development of new curriculum reform of elementary education, English teaching attaches great importance to cooperative learning, and the cooperative teaching learning in high schools has become one of the major ways to improve the English competences of high school students. How to organize students to carry out cooperative teaching has become the common concern of primary and secondary schools. While in China, the phenomenon of large class exists in many areas commonly. How to enforce cooperative teaching in the English teaching of large classes is seldom referred to in the researches at home and abroad. So the research of the organization ways and teaching methods of cooperative teaching based on the situation of large class is very meaningful in theory and practice.Faced with some common defects and problems in English teaching of large class, the author puts forward some available strategies, including the methods of dividing groups, assigning roles, arrangement of seat and evaluating system. Based on these strategies the author carries out the teaching experiment. After the experiment, the students have made great progress in their English exams of writing form. Besides what they have achieved, they also get great development in their thinking ability and values of life. Form all above, the possibility of enforcing cooperative strategies in the English teaching of large classes has been verified.
