Research On The Educational Function Of University Spirit In The New Era And Its Exertion

As a cultural place for educating people and enlightening their wisdom,the university bears the important mission of creating knowledge,inheriting culture and serving the society.University culture is the internal motive force of university development.As the core of university culture,university spirit represents the most remarkable spiritual characteristics of a university,highlights the personality of the university,and has a powerful educational function.This paper combines literature research with empirical research,makes in-depth analysis of the connotation and educational function of university spirit in the new era,analyses the problems existing in the exertion of university spirit's educational function,and carries out multi-dimensional research around the full exertion of university spirit's educational function.Studying the educational function of university spirit in the new era is not only an exploration of university spirit to educate people keeping pace with the times,but also a positive response to the call of "educating new people and revitalizing culture" of the Party and the state.The spirit of university in the new era is essentially a relatively stable system of value norms.It is represented by material forms,symbolic signs,system and behavioral activities.Its essential characteristics are the humanistic spirit of people-oriented,the academic spirit of independence and freedom,the scientific spirit of seeking truth and pragmatism,and the spirit of social care.The university spirit of the new era has a powerful function for the growth of students,such as cohesion,encouragement,education guidance,creation and development,and radiation guidance.The research on university spirit has a long history and fruitful results.However,with the advent of the new era,new requirements have been put forward for the exertion of the function of university spirit education in ideological and political education in universities.The author conducts a questionnaire survey of more than 300 students and interviews with more than 10 students and teachers in relevant universities in Wuhan.The data analysis of the above-mentioned questionnaire and interviews shows that there is a good trend in the exertion of the university's spiritual education function as a whole.However,due to the influence of many factors,such as school development tradition,social realistic conditions and students' spiritual growth characteristics,the students'cognition of university spirit is not comprehensive,the function of university spirit education lacks effective carriers,and the environment of university spirit education needs to be improved.With the advent of the new era,educators should deeply understand the new requirements of ideological and political work in universities,and pay full attention to the problems in the function of university spirit education.Firstly,we must pay attention to the extraction and integration of cultural resources,enhance the cultural connotation of the university spirit,and enhance the value-leading function of the university spirit.Secondly,we must actively promote the spirit of the university into the classroom,develop distinctive heritage brand activities,open up a new platform for online media,and innovate the carrier of university spirit.Then we must adhere to the concept of all-staflf education,give full play to the multi-subject joint efforts of leaders,front-line teachers and student groups,and cultivate the main body of university spirit education.Finally,we should start with the material environment,system environment and network environment of the campus to create a benign education ecosystem,and optimize the university spiritual education environment.
