Views On The Chinese Language Education In Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu Of Philippines

Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu was rated as one of the four "Chinese model schools" in the Philippines by the overseas Chinese affairs office in 2009.Through field investigation and research,this paper summarizes the reasons for the success of Chinese education in Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu,which can be summarized in the following three aspects:1.Advantaged Chinese learning environment.Cebu and Canon yao the essence of sacred heart school is a Catholic school,important verses from the bible have been adapted for Chinese version,the entire school teachers and students can recite,and widely used in large religious activities and daily morning prayers and pray before class,help students to learn Chinese as well as Chinese learning provides a good learning environment.2.Standard Chinese teaching.The school has a long history of Chinese education,and its advantages in teaching are mainly reflected in the Chinese curriculum,teachers and teaching materials.In terms of Chinese curriculum,the school divides Chinese classes according to students' Chinese proficiency,so that students can acquire knowledge suitable for their ability to accept.At the same time,an independent Chinese culture course is offered,which effectively distinguishes language teaching from culture teaching.In terms of teachers,the school has local Chinese teachers with rich teaching experience and volunteers of digital Chinese teachers,two completely different teams of teachers learning together,which jointly promote the development of Chinese education in the school.In terms of teaching materials,the textbooks used in this school are the series of "Easy Learning Chinese" compiled by Ma Yamin.This series of textbooks are arranged on the principle of communicative approach,which conforms to the purpose of Chinese education and is suitable for the development of students.Therefore,they are widely used in overseas Chinese teaching.3.The establishment of the overseas Chinese office,a special Chinese language promotion agency.In cooperation with Huaqiao University of China,the school has set up a special organization to guide the promotion of Chinese language--Huaqiao Office,which provides many opportunities for teachers and students to learn and communicate in Chinese and effectively promotes the development of Chinese language education.
