With the rapid development of science and technology,information technology has brought great convenience to human daily life.According to the requirements of junior high school geography curriculum standards and the theories of education,psychology,constructivism,cognitive development and multiple intelligence,augmented reality technology plays an important role in the cultivation of geography literacy.This paper first defines the related concepts of augmented reality,summarizes the relationship and difference between augmented reality technology(AR)and virtual reality technology(VR),and collates the characteristics of augmented reality applied in teaching demonstration.Secondly,the main tools and models of augmented reality teaching are summarized.Then,using case analysis method,the teaching resources presented in the junior middle school geography textbooks of Guangdong Educational Press under the guidance of curriculum standards are summarized and analyzed.It is found that there are many kinds of junior middle school geography teaching resources,which are mainly divided into textbooks,video,audio,pictures,cases,courseware,words and so on.They have the following characteristics: geographical things are closely linked,assisting key and difficult teaching,diversified forms,flat living.Many problems,such as direct observation and visualization,need to be improved.At the same time,through reviewing the periodical literature such as "Geography Teaching Reference in Middle School","Education Informatization in China"," Surveying and Mapping and Geospatial Information","Modern Reform",it is found that the combination of dynamic and static augmented reality enables learners to seamlessly transform in real and virtual environments,thus the market in the education industry is vast and the potential is huge.Compared with foreign countries,domestic augmented reality is more used in national R&D or large-scale training fields,lacking of integration with education,and technology is still in the stage of simple presentation and low interaction.Aiming at the problem of combining augmented reality with teaching,based on the theories of pedagogy,psychology,constructivism,cognitive development and multiple intelligence,this paper puts forward the principle of augmented reality applied to geography teaching,and combines it with the junior middle school geography teaching resources of Guang dong Educational Press.Then,according to the current research situation and teaching process,this paper puts forward the problems and suggestions of augmented reality in junior high school geography teaching.Finally,based on the characteristics of applying Augmented Reality Principle to geography teaching in junior high school,a complete course is designed to show how to apply Augmented Reality technology to geography teaching,hoping to help the relevant workers.
