With the development of "Internet+",the application of information technology in the field of education is becoming more and more diversified.In addition to the common multimedia teaching and online teaching platforms,newer technologies are also beginning to enter the campus.Such as artificial intelligence,big data,augmented reality(AR),virtual reality(VR),etc.However,in the field of discipline application,it is biased towards Chinese,English,physics,chemistry,and other sciences,with less application in history and politics.Therefore,based on the technological background of the new era and following the requirements of curriculum standards,this article explores the application of augmented reality(AR)in the teaching of history in secondary schools,and explores the learning effects of students.First of all,this article describes the issues and content of the study.The purpose of this study is to explore how augmented reality technology(AR)can enhance the establishment of students’ space-time concepts in the history discipline,thereby improving learning outcomes.The process of the research and the development of the main APP used will be using Unity3D,and it will be further clarified that the purpose of the research is to use augmented reality technology(AR)APP to assist history teaching and explore learning effects.After that,the significance of this study was analyzed.Secondly,it explains the theories needed in the research,and proposes the concept of using augmented reality APP before,during,and after history classroom teaching.It also makes a specific teaching design using "The Confrontation between the Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty" in Class 8 of Volume 2 of Grade 7 as an example,providing practical reference for using the APP.According to the curriculum standards and this concept,the app "The North AR",which has applied augmented reality technology(AR),has been developed and tested.Finally,the app was put into use in a middle school,and a questionnaire focusing on learning outcomes was conducted before and after use.Through data analysis of pre-test questionnaire,post-test questionnaire,and APP,it is confirmed that the augmented reality APP improves students’ learning engagement and has a positive impact on learning outcomes.
