Investigation And Research On Women's Participation In Tourism Development In Shuixigou Town

With the further deepening of tourism development and the continuous expansion of tourism scale,tourism has not only changed the economic structure and natural environment of rural areas,but also exerted a tremendous impact on the cultural system of rural communities.Community residents,who are at the core of tourism destination culture,have undergone significant changes in their lifestyle and value system,especially the community women who are the main participants.In recent decades,the role of women in tourism is obvious to all.Whether tourism can become the focus of this paper is to improve their living environment and improve their own development.This research chooses Shuixigou Town as the site of field investigation,adopts qualitative research methods,uses semi-structured interviews and field investigation methods to collect data.Through exploring the changes in the process of multiple women's participation in tourism,it explores the development of women themselves in the family and public spheres.It mainly focuses on the following research topics:(1)The main forms of female participation in tourism in Shuixigou Town.This chapter takes Miaoergou Village of Shuixigou Town as an example,sorting out the main ways of women's participation in tourism development in Shuixigou Town,and finds that the main forms of women's participation in tourism include scenic area publicity and reception,tour guides,hotel restaurant management and traditional handicraft processing and marketing.(2)The impact of participation in tourism on women's social status.First is the family field: the analysis of the impact of tourism on women.The traditional mode of division of labor in China leads to the long-term restriction of women's scope of activities in the family field.The main responsibilities are housework,childbearing and caring for the production and life of family members,which is the expectation of family and society.From the influence of women's participation in rural tourism on family marriage concept,education concept and family economy,this chapter finds that the development of tourism makes women shift from unpaid household work to paid productive work,which not only increases their income,changes their family concept,but also improves their family status.Secondly,it is the public sphere: the analysis of women's development in tourism.Women play the role of producers intourism,gradually changing from family workers to market operators,expanding from the family to the public,improving the ability of social interaction,enriching leisure activities and participating more actively in the management of community affairs.From the perspective of gender,it is found that women's management of labor in the family breaks through the boundaries of the family and extends to the community and even the country.Women improve their family status and social status and realize their own value.At the same time,it is also found that women are in a passive state in the process of tourism development,not actively seeking their own development.
