Extracurricular practice is an extension of traditional classroom instruction.In the process of teaching,teachers are encouraged to carry out extracurricular practice activities,which is not only to change the traditional way of learning to supplement students' classroom learning,but also to improve students' biological science literacy in the form of inquiry learning in extracurricular practice activities.The current situation of extracurricular practice activities in China is not very satisfactory,the textbook is an educational medium for teachers and students to interact,and is also a supporting material for teachers to guide students to carry out extracurricular activities.From the perspective of teaching materials,the analysis of the setting of extracurricular practice activities in biology textbooks can help teachers and students to carry out activities better.From the part of the extracurricular practice activities of Chinese and American junior high school biology textbooks,and adopts research methods such as literature research,comparative research and questionnaire survey.Comparative analysis of the arrangement and content level of two sets of textbook extracurricular activities,combined with the current situation of the development of extracurricular practice activities in China.In combination with the advantages of teaching in China and the advantages of American textbooks that provide improvement strategies for Chinese textbooks and better implementation of extracurricular practice activities.The paper is mainly from six parts:Chapter One,explained the research background and significance,defines the teaching materials and extracurricular practice activities,The status quo of research on middle school biology textbooks and extracurricular practice activities at different countries was analyzed.In order to determine the rationale for the theoretical basis of this study.Chapter Two,the formulation of the research plan and introduce the research objects,contents and methods of the thesis.Chapter Three,a comparative study of the arrangement of extracurricular activities in the two sets of textbooks.Briefly analyze the arrangement of the two sets of textbooks,and then compare them from the position,quantity,type and level of the activities.Chapter Four,a comparative study of the content of extracurricular activities in the two sets of textbooks,and expand the analysis from the content classification,illustrations,materials used,target dimension level.Chapter Five,The investigation and analysis of the current situation of extracurricular practice activities were conducted in the form of questionnaires for teachers and students.The survey results show that the implementation rate of extracurricular practice activities in Chinese textbooks is not high,and the implementation rate of activities in American textbooks is higher.Chapter Six,The conclusions of the study are obtained by comparison.On the basis of summarizing the characteristics of extracurricular practice activities in the two sets of textbooks,and providing suggestions for the setting of extracurricular practice activities in Chinese textbooks.The two sets of textbooks in China and the United States have set up different types,quantities and levels of extracurricular practice activities as a whole.Compared with the activities in American textbooks,the extracurricular practice activities in Chinese textbooks focus on the basics,and the coverage is narrow,the teaching materials are less instructive during the student activities.By drawing on the advantages of the extracurricular practice activities in American textbooks,it provides a basis for teachers and students in China to better conduct extracurricular activities.(1)Appropriately increasing the number of activities for teachers and students to use for reference;(2)Appropriately increasing the number of observations,collections,and simulations;(3)Enhancing the guidance of textbooks in the course of practical activities under the student class;(4)Enriching the content of the event and focus on migration;(5)Pay attention to the importance of the family and safe education in the extracurricular activities of students;(6)Integrating the use of resources to enhance the characteristics of the event;(7)Using reasonable network resources to build a multi-functional activity evaluation.
