Research On Student Affairs Management In Higher Vocational Colleges

Mature and efficient student affairs management based on students' development is not only the key indicator to determine the quality of higher vocational colleges,but the important support and guarantee of students' all-round developmental ability.The study seeks the existing problems in the student affairs management through the combination of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,and puts forward some corresponding countermeasures in order to provide reference for the relevant departments and entities.First of all,this paper discusses the theoretical basis,the connotation,the content,the operating mechanism and the particularity of student affairs management in higher vocational colleges.It is clear that student development theory is the theoretical basis of student affairs management in higher vocational colleges.The student affairs management is considered to be the management service activities that pursuit students' educational function and developing function.Student affairs management mainly meet the needs of students' life and development through the function of education,service and management.Among those things,education function mainly depends on the construction of Party and League organizations,ideological and political education,cultural practice and so on;the service function mainly achieves through the work study program,employment guidance,psychological counseling,and difficult funding;management function mainly relies on rewards and punishments,student status,behavior norms and other rules and regulations to achieve.The particularity of student affairs management in higher vocational colleges lies in the career orientation of goal orientation,the diversity of students' quality and structures,focusing on the management of forging students' behavior and habits,and more practical and targeted employment services.Then,this study explores the following five problems through a questionnaire survey on the present situation of student affairs management in Tianjin five vocational colleges,that is,the connection between career and development is broken,the atmosphere of "emphasizing management and neglecting service" overdrawn thestudents' sense of belonging,the "precision" of key services need improving,"Linear functional" organizational structure weakens management validity and the professional quality of management team is not enough.The reason mainly lies in the lack of developmental vision of talent training,the application and popularity of traditional management mode and the lack of professional internal and external security mechanism for management team.Finally,based on the problems,the paper puts forward five following countermeasures to improve the level of student affairs management in higher vocational colleges.Firstly,erect the developing target “from point to surface”,to build a good governance campus atmosphere “ from management to release”,to provide accurate student services “from the outside to the inside”,to build efficient management system “from shallower to the deeper”,to create a professional management team “from inside to outside”.
