Research On College Student Affairs Management Under New Situation

Since the reforming of Chinese higher education continues to deepen and popular,great changes has happen to college. Under this new situation, the quality and quantityof student affairs management becomes a more and more challenging task. Collegestudent affairs management must not remain in the education and management level,but should offer the full range of supports and services. Hence, the innovation researchwhich are of great significance on both theoretical and realistic have been taken to settlethe conflicts between old systems and models and new situation.This article is divided into five parts. In the first part, the background knowledgeand significance of the study is introduced, including some related concepts on studentaffairs management; the summary of the study on student affairs management betweenChinese and West moreover is argued.The second part discussed on the history and characteristics of student affairsmanagement in China mainland. Since China’s reform and opening-up, the studentaffair management of our country went through four periods which possessed withtraditional and new features.Based on the objective statement on the current situations of student affairsmanagement of higher education in our country, the third part analyzes three negativeaspects of our student affairs management under new situation that are traditionalmanagement model and pan-politicization, the deficiency of specialization onmanagement team, and disadvantages of model of student affairs management.The fourth part is the key element in this article which proposes suggestion on theinnovation of student affairs management of our country. Firstly, the basic principles oncollege student affairs management, that is, people oriented, are argued; secondly, theselection of student affairs management models are studied, including establishing themanagement idea of students development, innovating management system.Finally, the importance of the specialization of management team is strengthened.The final part concludes my study. First, the necessity of innovation and reform onstudent affairs management of higher education in China is declared. Second, the furtherstudy on student affair management is looked forward in the end of this article.
