With the rapid development of economy and accelerated urbanization,more and more resettled community appeared.A large number of rural population turning into urban population in a short period of time,caused the problems of identity transformation,territory loss and life security and so on.One of the nonnegligible issue that arose is children's developmental needs.At present,the school-age children resettled from village committees to residents committees appear to be relatively weak,mainly in the aspects of low self-evaluation,difficulty in learning,lack of resources in extracurricular activities,lack of a sense of belonging to the community and the city,etc.As social work serves as a professional service for people who has difficulties and demands,and children are the main objects of social work,it is supposed to provide professional services to this group,improve the weak power status,meet their real needs and help them to achieve empowerment.The research basing on the project which Y social work service center carried out selected a resettled community in the Yuhuatai district of Nanjing----M community to study the school-age children.By providing professional social work empowerment service from environment-promoted and individual-promoted two ways,the abilities of school-age children are improved,potential stimulated and empowerment achieved.The article will evaluate the changes and effects in the empowerment progress of the service objects from individual,interpersonal and social aspects through interviews and feedback forms,and aims to explore the social work practice mode suitable for the school-age children resettled from village committees to residents committees.
