Research On Strategies To Promote Youth Community Participation From The Perspective Of Empowerment Theory

In today’s new situation and new social context,youth community participation is an important part of community residents’ participation in community construction,and an important part of realizing diversified cooperative governance.At the same time,the youth’s community participation can not only promote the all-round development of the youth,but also drive the adult’s participation,and improve the enthusiasm of the whole community residents to participate in the community construction.Residents’ participation in community construction has been studied in the fields of community social work service,community construction and community governance.However,as an important part of community residents,there are few relevant researches on community participation.Under the guidance of the perspective of empowerment theory,this paper takes the youth community participation practice of Q street community comprehensive service center as an example to analyze the status quo of youth participation in the community,and extracts the strategies to promote youth community participation through the research on the practice process of youth participation in the community.Research show that at the individual level,strategies to promote youth community participation are:“Providing opportunities for participation,broadening the channels for young people to participate ”,“ encouraging young people to develop independently,changing the awareness of youth participation”,“improving community participation and increasing participation of young people”.At the interpersonal level,strategies to promote youth community participation are:“Building teams,developing the power of team mutual help”,“triggering team discussions,making young people become decision makers”,“promoting teams to take action”.At the community level,strategies to promote youth community participation are: “ Advocating the Subject Status of Youth Community Participation” and “Exploring Sustainable Youth Service Network”.At the end of this paper,the author reflects and discusses the shortcomings and limitations of this youth’s community participation strategy,hoping to play a role in attracting future research.
