Research On College Freshmen's School Adaptation

From high school to university is the end of the basic education,and the beginning of the higher education.It is also the process of students shifting from the role of high school students to the role of college students.In this process,students often have obvious adaptation problems,which may affect personal development,study and life for a long time.Therefore,it is necessary to study the college freshmen's school adaptation,exploring the causes of adaptation problems on the basis of grasping the adaptability of school adaptation.According to the social role theory,this research divides the freshmen's school adaptation into two stages:role comprehension and role practice.It corresponds to the preparation of high school students and the adaptability of college students,and designs research tools by analyzing the differences between high school and university.This study uses empirical methods,in which the data for school preparation is derived from the "Research on Information Problems in Personal Choice of Higher Education"database.,and the data for school adaptation is derived from questionnaires and interviews with freshmen and counselors.The main findings of the research are(1)students' school preparation for school is insufficient,that is,the role of comprehension is wrong,including the concept of role is blurred and the recognition of role environment is improper.(2)students' school adaptation is not optimistic,that is,the role practice is not good,including the role behavioral bias,the role emotions are weakness and the role psychological tension.(3)there are significant differences in school adaptation between different individuals.The main influencing factors of this difference are gender,ethnicity,whether they are only children,and the college entrance examination.According to the research,the main reasons for the above-mentioned college students' adaptation problems are the poor communication between high school and university,the lack of high school's quality education,the poor career education of high school,limited support from university teachers,insufficient parental responsibility,autocratic family education,irregular mass communication,fierce social change.To this end,this research proposes some suggestions to promote college freshmen's school adaptation from three aspects:school education,family education and social public affection.
