Under the background of the new curriculum,the status of the whole book reading teaching activities in Chinese teaching has become very prominent.However,the guiding methods are not flexible enough and diversified,and the Chinese classroom has become a demonstration course of material stacking.With the popularization and application of multimedia,the acquisition of reading skills has been placed in an important position.Under the current examination system,classroom reading teaching is the main way for students to acquire reading methods and skills.But at present,classroom reading teaching is mostly single reading,and the whole book reading tends to be superficial and utilitarian and fragmentary,which makes it lose its due value and significance.In view of the current situation of the whole book reading teaching,this paper takes students and teachers as the subjects of investigation,adopts questionnaire,conversation and classroom observation methods to investigate the current situation of the whole book reading in junior middle school and analyze the reasons for the existing problems.Through data analysis,it is found that the current situation of the whole book reading teaching is not optimistic,such as the students’ reading enthusiasm as the main body is not high,the students’ participation in the classroom is too low,and the teachers’ lack of analysis and feedback on the students’ participation in the classroom.Students’ reading range is small,teachers lack of expansion and guidance on students’ reading content,students have not yet understood the reading methods,teachers are not careful enough in designing reading teaching,teachers’ own reading level is limited,students’ reading skills are not grasped enough,parents pay less attention to students,and so on.For this reason,taking the reading teaching activity design of Camel Xiangzi as an example,this paper puts forward corresponding strategies for students,teachers,schools and families in the whole book reading teaching.
