In recent years,along with the introduction of picture books,many front-line teachers have tried their best to using pictures books as a teaching material.Indeed,picture books stimulated students' desire to read pure English texts and can develop students' reading ability and reading habits.However,most of the existing researches are concerned with the value of picture book reading,and less pay attention to the problems that teachers have during picture book designing.Therefore,this study takes teaching design as an entry point,conducts a questionnaire survey of picture book instructional design and textual analysis of teaching plan for first-line teachers,in order to find out the problems existing in the process,and put forward reasonable countermeasures for existing problems.This article consists of six parts.The first chapter is Introduction.It mainly introduces the research background,purpose,significance,design and related literature review.This article is mainly based on the elementary school English teachers in S district of Shanghai.It is based on the literature method and conducts empirical research through questionnaire survey and text analysis.Cases are presented through case studies.The second chapter is the theoretical basis.First,summarize the previous definition of English picture book,reading teaching and instructional design concepts;secondly,elaborated the relevant theoretical basis of the picture book reading instructional design.The third chapter is the empirical research part of the primary school English picture book instructional design.Questionnaires and text analysis are used to find out the problems that exist during the design processing,the main problems are as follows:the lack of front-end analysis before teaching design;the unreasonable setting of teaching objectives;improper selection of important and difficult points in teaching;the simple form of teaching process and the overly simple teaching evaluation methods,at last analysis the causes of these problems.The fourth chapter is the countermeasures part,solve the exist problems one by one by putting forward reasonable solutions.The countermeasures mainly include the analysis of front-end teaching,reasonable setting of teaching objectives,deeperunderstanding of pictures books,improvement of teaching process effectiveness and diversification of teaching evaluation methods.The fifth chapter is the case presentation.According to the countermeasure proposed by the author,“Just like dad” is used as the text to display the teaching design,providing teachers with more intuitive and clear operation steps.The sixth chapter is the conclusion and prospect part,summarizes the main achievements and deficiencies of the study,and put forward the prospect of follow-up research.
