Teacher's response behavior,which is instant and generative,refers to the feedback and handling about students' answers and reactions after teachers' questions.children's conversation activity is not only an important way to promote their abilities of listening and expression,but also a two-way interaction between children and teachers.Therefore,teachers' active and effective response behavior is helpful to the development of children's language ability.After sorting out the relevant literature,it is found that the research on teachers' response behavior is mostly concentrated on primary and secondary schools,while few on kindergarten.Accordingly,observation method and interview method are mainly adopted to observe the behaviors and concepts of teachers' response in children's conversation activities in middle class of a kindergarten.Five middle-class teachers from five kindergartens are sampled randomly and thirty conversation activities of preschool children are observed.The researcher has recorded teachers' question types,children's answers and teacher's response behaviors.Based on the interview records of five observed teachers and through statistical and descriptive analysis,this paper elaborates on the overall situation of teachers' response behaviors,the distribution of specific response behaviors and the comparison of five teachers' response behaviors.It is found that abundant ways of response behaviors in conversation activities are used,and more positive response behaviors are adopted than negative ones.What's more,most teachers prefer diagnostic reasoning and different teachers also have different response behaviors.This paper has summarized the present situation of teachers' response behavior in children's conversation activities in middle class,and found that there are some problems in their teaching activities: teachers' praises are too frequent but not specific;the number of response targets is unfair;waiting time is short;teachers' response methods are not flexible,and more negative answers are employed.Combined with the observation records,statistical analysis and teachers' interviews,it is found that different teachers have different teaching and response concepts,different control abilities towards conversation activities and response strategies,which is revealed in the differences of their response behaviors.Furthermore,whether teachers reflect on their own response behavior after activities,individual differences among children,and different teaching themes also have a certain impact on teacher's response behavior.In view of the above problems and the analysis of the influencing factors,the following suggestions are put forward: update teaching concepts,strengthen the understanding of teacher's response;enhance the preparation and grasp of conversation activities;improve teaching ability,flexibly use a variety of response strategies;pay attention to individual differences,teach students in accordance with their aptitude;reflect on response behavior to achieve self-development.
