In the course of the development of women history in the western United States,1945-1960 was a special period.During this period,a large number of women in the western coast of the United States entered the labor market, and their employment scale and structure changed significantly.A large number of women are going out to work, which has a great impact on tens of millions of families along the Pacific coast of the United States.Compared with male employment, women employment in the West Coast has serious problems just as in other parts of the United States, mainly manifested in gender discrimination and unequal pay for equal work between men and women.Meanwhile, during this period, women desire for economic equality became stronger and stronger because of the brewing of the second feminist movement in the United States and the awakening of women equality consciousness in the West Coast.By analyzing the employment situation of women on the West Coast during this period, this paper reveals a series of employment problems and their impacts on the female labor force in the West Coast,to understand the American society more comprehensively.
