The Diversified Situation And Its Causes Of Women's Employment In The United States (From The Early 1990s To The Present)

Since the 1990s,American women's employment situation started to change,and became more diversified.In this thesis,the author attempts to explain these diversities and analyze the reasons why the American women's employment has become more diversified.This thesis focuses on the following three aspects:the impact of the third feminist movement,education and technological progress,and the increasing perfection of related laws and regulations.The ideological transformation mainly caused by the Third-wave feminist movement.The Third-wave feminist movement brought more thoughts on individual development and objective differences between men and women.It made women's employment concepts more diversified.The external environment changes came from the development of education and technology.American women have been receiving higher education,and they have more professional choices than before,so the choices of work became more diversified.The development of science and technology has adjusted the industrial structure of the United States,which is more suitable for women.The advancement of science and technology provides American women more work opportunities and job types,which gives American women more possibility to get a satisfied job.At the same time,the author suggests that the laws and regulations related to women's employment have gradually increased and improved since the 1990s,some inequality and discrimination that have existed for hundreds of years have been adjusted by these laws and regulations.The advancement of related laws and regulations provides a strong guarantee for women's employment in the United States.Through analysis,the author concludes that the change of concepts brought about by the third feminist movement,the improvement of education and technology,and the improvement of relevant laws and regulations have made influences of the American women's employment changes from the 1990s to the present.These three factors influence each other,and create a more diversified employment sitution for women in the United States.
